Why are flies so hard to swat? Better eyesight and specialized hind wings. A fly can process images over 6 times faster than the human eye. They can also change course in under 1/100th of a second — about 50 times faster than an eye can blink. As if these were not sufficient, their modified hind wings help them launch into a speedy takeoff. You don’t stand a chance.
The company Johnson and Johnson was founded in 1886 by these three brothers —Robert Wood Johnson, James Wood Johnson and Edward Mead Johnson.
The first credit card issued was Diner’s Club in 1950 to 200 customers who could use it at 27 restaurants in New York. But it was only until the establishment of standards installed the magnetic strip (in 1970) that the credit card became part of the information age.
The first Academy Awards (the “Oscars”) where held in May 1929. The winners were actually announced 3 months prior and the event itself lasted only 15 minutes.
