A long time ago, bread was divided according to status. Workers got the burnt bottom of the loaf, the family got the middle, and guests got the top, or the upper crust. Hence, the term “the upper crust.”
Adidas and Puma companies were founded by two brothers. The original company, was started by Adolf Dassler ; he was joined by his elder brother Rudolf in 1924 under the name Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik ("Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory".) In 1949, following a breakdown in the relationship between the brothers, Adolf created Adidas, and Rudolf established Puma, which became Adidas' business rival.
The game Lacrosse was started by the Native American Indians and was originally known as stickball. In the 12th century, French adopted and named it “Lacrosse”– it literally means “the stick.”
The Mariana Trench is the deepest oceanic trench on Earth. It is located in the western Pacific Ocean, near Guam. Some unverified measurements suggest that it is deeper than the height of Mount Everest.
